Dear Constituents, an update from my office:
Adjournment of the House
On Wednesday, the House of Commons adjourned for the winter break. Throughout the fall, my Conservative colleagues and I have advocated on behalf of Canadians who are struggling to keep up with the ever-increasing cost-of-living. I look forward to spending more time in our riding over the coming weeks and hearing directly from you.
Find below my most recent interventions in the House and at Committee.
INDU Committee - Foreign interference
LANG Committee – The Liberals don’t understand their own legislation
Petition – Spam and fraudulent phone calls
Bill C-21
As reported by the Western Standard, Bill C-21 has faced delays at the Standing Committee on Public Safety. This is good news for the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding hunters, farmers and sports shooters who would be forced to turn over their firearms upon passage of this bill.
My Conservative colleagues and I continue to call for more action to stop the illegal flow of firearms across our border. Banning hunting rifles will do nothing to address the rampant gun violence in our communities.
I have received many requests for petitions on this bill. If you are interested in sponsoring one, please visit bradvis.ca/petitions to download and print copies. Please ensure that all signatories include a full street address with municipality to ensure they can be verified by the Clerk of Petitions.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
As the holidays approach, I wanted to remind you that my constituency office will close at noon on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, and reopen at 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. During this time, my office email and voicemail will be monitored each weekday and urgent matters will be actioned as quickly as possible.
From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
