Dear Constituents, an update from my office:
This Week in Parliament
It has been another busy week in Ottawa, and I am happy to be back in Parliament fighting for my constituents. I remain focused on securing the support my constituents need after the atmospheric rivers that devastated much of our riding and province. I have been touched by the support shown by members of all parties to our region. It is going to take a Team Canada approach to recover from these disasters, and I am pleased that MPs have put politics aside on this issue.
This week, there was a heavy focus on our forestry sector after the decision by US President Joe Biden to double import tariffs on softwood lumber. Be assured that I am fighting hard to protect this sector and the jobs it brings to Mission—Matsqui—Fraser Canyon.
