Ottawa, ON – Pierre Paul-Hus, Conservative Shadow Minister for Public Services and Procurement, and Chris d’Entremont, Conservative MP for West Nova, today released the following statement calling on the Liberals to stop their campaign of misleading Canadians on their fake investments: 
 
“Minister Anand and Liberal MP Lenore Zann have doubled down on their false statements that they provided an almost $30 million investment to Stanfield’s in Truro, NS to produce PPE. The simple fact is that no investment exists.
 
“The owner of Stanfield’s has clearly stated that the Liberal government has invested zero dollars into his company, a fact supported by the Public Service Alliance of Canada. It’s inexcusable that while 150 workers were recently laid off at Stanfield’s, the Liberals are making up fake investments of almost $30 million.
 
“When asked during Question Period about these false claims, Minister Anand chose to further spread misinformation about the non-existent $30 million dollar investment. This is unacceptable behaviour from a federal cabinet minister.
 
“It’s time for the Liberals to start being honest with Canadians. Conservatives are calling on the Liberals to stop their campaign of misleading Canadians on this non-existent investment.”

Ottawa (Ontario) – Pierre Paul-Hus, ministre du Cabinet fantôme conservateur responsable des Services publics et de l’Approvisionnement, et Chris d’Entremont, député conservateur de Nova-Ouest, ont fait la déclaration suivante, pressant les libéraux de mettre un terme à leur campagne visant à tromper les Canadiens sur un faux investissement :
 
« La ministre Anand et la députée libérale Lenore Zann doublent la mise avec leurs fausses déclarations selon lesquelles elles ont alloué près de 30 millions de dollars à Stanfield’s, de Truro, en Nouvelle-Écosse, pour fabriquer de l’ÉPI. Le fait est qu’il n’y a eu aucun investissement.
 
« Le propriétaire de Stanfield’s a dit clairement que le gouvernement libéral n’a rien investi du tout dans son entreprise, un fait soutenu par l’Alliance de la fonction publique du Canada. Il est inexcusable qu’alors que 150 travailleurs ont récemment été mis à pied chez Stanfield’s, les libéraux inventent un faux investissement de près de 30 millions de dollars.
 
« Quand elle a été interrogée à la période des questions sur ces fausses affirmations, la ministre Anand a préféré faire une désinformation sur l’investissement de 30 millions de dollars inexistant. C’est un comportement inacceptable de la part d’une ministre du cabinet fédéral.
 
« Il est temps que les libéraux commencent à être honnêtes avec les Canadiens. Les conservateurs pressent les libéraux de mettre fin à leur campagne visant à tromper les Canadiens sur cet investissement inexistant. »
