Ottawa, ON – Dan Albas, Conservative Shadow Minister for Environment and Climate Change, and Joël Godin, MP for Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier, released the following statement on the Liberal government’s rejection of Saskatchewan’s climate pricing plan:
“Today, Canadians learned that the Liberal government has rejected Saskatchewan’s climate pricing plan and stated that they would not accept another submission for two years.
“Since day one, the Trudeau Liberals have refused to work with the provinces when it comes to tackling climate change. Instead of working with Saskatchewan on a plan that works for their province, the Liberal government has rejected their plan and set an arbitrary date of two years for another plan.
“These actions from the Trudeau Liberals show they are more interested in politics than working together to tackle the issue of climate change. In contrast with the actions of the Liberal government, Canada’s Conservatives will bring the provinces together to talk about the next steps in climate action and how we can work together to meet our goal of fighting climate change.
“When it comes to climate change, Canadians can’t afford the paternalistic approach of the Liberals. Canada’s Conservatives are the only party with a plan to secure our environment, secure jobs, and secure our future.”

Les libéraux refusent de travailler avec les provinces sur le changement climatique

Ottawa (Ontario) – Joël Godin, député de Portneuf–Jacques-Cartier, et Dan Albas, ministre du Cabinet fantôme conservateur responsable de l’Environnement et du Changement climatique, ont fait la déclaration suivante au sujet du rejet du plan de tarification climatique de la Saskatchewan par le gouvernement libéral :
« Aujourd’hui, les Canadiens ont appris que le gouvernement libéral a rejeté le plan de tarification du carbone de la Saskatchewan et affirmé qu’il n’accepterait aucune autre proposition pendant deux ans.
« Depuis le premier jour, les libéraux de Trudeau refusent de travailler avec les provinces sur la question du changement climatique. Au lieu de travailler avec la Saskatchewan sur un plan qui fonctionne pour la province, le gouvernement libéral a rejeté son plan et établi un délai arbitraire de deux ans pour la soumission de tout autre plan.
« Cela démontre que les libéraux de Trudeau sont plus intéressés par la politicaillerie que par la collaboration pour relever l’enjeu du changement climatique. Par contraste avec les agissements du Parti libéral, les conservateurs du Canada vont rassembler les provinces pour discuter des prochaines étapes de la lutte au changement climatique et de la façon dont nous pouvons travailler ensemble pour atteindre notre objectif de lutte au changement climatique.
« Sur la question du changement climatique, les Canadiens n’en peuvent plus de l’approche paternaliste des libéraux. Les conservateurs du Canada sont le seul parti qui a un plan pour agir pour l’environnement, pour l’emploi et pour l’avenir. »
