In the House
In recent weeks, I have joined two new committees in the House: 1) the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology (INDU); and 2) the Standing Committee on Official Languages (LANG). I look forward to working on these committees and bringing forward a strong British Columbian voice.
You can watch one of my last interventions at the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs (PROC) here. During our study on hybrid Parliament, I highlighted the Liberal practice of allowing just two MPs to speak in the House on a regular basis.

Fighting for Small Business
On October 12, 2022, the new leader of the Official Opposition, Pierre Poilievre, announced our new shadow cabinet. I am thrilled to take on my new role as Shadow Minister for Small Business Recovery and Growth. Here in Mission—Matsqui—Fraser Canyon, we know just how important small businesses are to our communities and our economy.

Hearing From You
While I did not receive many responses to my recent survey on changes to EI qualifications, I want to thank those of you who did provide feedback. Those who responded indicated their preference that EI qualifications return to their pre-pandemic rules.

Happy Diwali!
My family and I had a great time at the Diwali celebration in Mission on Saturday. Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an annual celebration of light conquering darkness and good overcoming evil. It was amazing to see so many friends and neighbours out celebrating. Thanks to the Mission Mid-day Rotary Club for hosting!
