Dear Constituents, a few updates from my office:

2021 Federal Election Outcome

First and foremost, thank you!  I am humbled and honoured to have been re-elected to represent the best riding in Canada with such strong support from my constituents.  I am excited to be your Member of Parliament, and to everyone across the riding of all political persuasions, please know that I will work hard to earn and keep your trust.

 While Trudeau's self-serving snap election cost taxpayers over $600 million, the composition of parties in the House of Commons changed very little. We still have a minority Liberal government and we still have much work to do. I am ready to return to Parliament so we can get back to the business of running the country.

My Top Priorities for Mission—Matsqui—Fraser Canyon

In the 44th Parliament, I have set a list of priorities that I will be focused on, and I will be working hard to get results on these files for you.  My top priorities include:

  • Federal supports to rebuild the Village of Lytton and the Lytton First Nation;
  • Protecting the Fraser River watershed for the enjoyment of future generations;
  • Investing in community infrastructure to reinvigorate the places where we live and play;
  • Bolstering public safety in our rural and urban communities; and,
  • Enhancing community engagement to effectively advocate on the issues that matter most to you.

Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination

The Prime Minister recently announced mandatory vaccination for the federal workforce and federally-regulated transportation sectors. While Canada’s Conservatives support measures to keep Canadians safe and stop the spread of COVID-19, we made clear during the election those measures should not override Canadians’ right to make their own healthcare decisions. We also know that the use of rapid testing is an underutilized tool that should be employed to a greater extent. I am concerned about the implications of this federal directive, and the Conservative Party is actively reviewing this new policy. If you are a federal worker at risk of being placed on administrative leave without pay, please contact my office.

You’re My Boss

Your feedback is valued.  Please do not hesitate to contact my office to voice your concerns or seek assistance with any federal government programs at 604-814-5710 or [email protected].

Once again, I thank you for putting your confidence in me as Mission—Matsqui—Fraser Canyon’s voice in Ottawa.  I look forward to engaging with and serving you in the months ahead.

Thank you,

Brad Vis, MP
