Thank You, Mission–Matsqui–Abbotsford!
I’m deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me to be your representative.
For all the new readers to my e-newsletter, I use this platform to outline community events, receive feedback through surveys and keep constituents up to date on my work in the riding and in Ottawa. Welcome!

The newsletter has evolved over the last five years, and I do my utmost to present information in a format and style that is accessible and easy to understand. If you really enjoy my partisan content, please make sure to sign up for my Conservative Party of Canada mailing list here.
At the heart of this work is my desire to keep you informed, to guard your trust and hear what you need to share with me, and vice-versa!
Thank you for reading and engaging in the democratic process.
Please take a moment to watch my speech at my swearing-in ceremony where I outlined a few points about the campaign and what drives me as a person.
Historic Opening of the 45th Parliament
Last Tuesday, the 45th Parliament officially opened with the Speech from the Throne delivered by His Majesty King Charles III. This marks the first time since 1977 that a reigning monarch has done so in Canada!
As an MP, I was summoned by the Usher of the Black Rod, stood at the entrance to the Senate chamber, and listened to His Majesty’s remarks. Afterwards, I had the honour of shaking the King’s hand—truly memorable moment in our nation’s parliamentary history!
Fighting for Small Business
I’m honoured to continue serving as the Shadow Minister for Small Business. I will keep advocating for policies that promote growth and sustainability for Canadian entrepreneurs. I had the opportunity to rise in the House and ask why the government about the CBSA’s custom’s notice that is causing confusion for small businesses. You can watch this here.
As a border community, I’ve already heard from many of you about the negative impact of U.S. tariffs on your operations and bottom line. I will ensure your concerns are heard in Ottawa. If you’d like me to visit your business as part of my ongoing small business outreach, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Local Representatives in Ottawa
It was a pleasure to host Abbotsford City Councillors Patricia Ross, Patricia Driessen and Mayor Sylvia Pranger from Agassiz during the Federation of Canadian Municipalities annual conference.
We had important discussions about coordinating flood mitigation infrastructure, which is critical to protecting Canada’s supply chains and food security. It’s essential for me to continue raising the issue of the lack of infrastructure funding for Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley. You can watch me rise in the House to ask when additional infrastructure funding will be provided.
Investing in Abbotsford Recreation Facilities
A newly formed community group in Abbotsford has launched a petition to highlight the urgent need to upgrade recreation facilities. To learn more and to sign the petition, click here.
I’ve already reached out to Mayor Siemens outlining my encouragement of some recent steps taken by the city and outlined my enthusiasm to partner with the city on any federal requests moving forward.
Petitions
One of my favourite parliamentary tools is the petition process. I regularly use petitions to raise local concerns and demand timely responses from the government.
If you’re interested in getting involved, please stop by my Mission office (32650 Logan Avenue Suite 7) or visit my website to view current petitions that citizens in Mission–Matsqui–Abbotsford have already launched.
Starting your own petition is easier than you might think—a paper petition only requires 25 valid signatures from Canadian citizens or residents, and there’s no minimum age to sign. If you’d like to start one, feel free to email my office at [email protected]. You can also click here to learn more about how to properly format a petition.
